Timeline:
November 2010: Adam and Lauren met for the first time.
May 27, 2011: got engaged in Jackson, Michigan.
November 12, 2011: got married on a brisk Saturday afternoon
in St. Charles, Illinois.
July 2012: decided that now was the time to start a family.
March 2013: found out that getting pregnant on our own would
be difficult but not impossible.
April 2013: decided that we wanted to pursue adoption.
April 15, 2013: first adoption orientation with Bethany
Christian Services.
May 2013: decided to pursue domestic infant adoption through
Bethany after attending second orientation.
September 2013: applied for the domestic infant adoption program
with Bethany Christian Services.
October 2013: approved initially for the program and
assigned to a specific caseworker who will guide us through the adoption
process.
October 25, 2013: met Cory, our caseworker, and received a stack
of paperwork to fill out.
November 2013: worked on paper work and did various adoption trainings
December 6, 2013: completed our first home visit with Bethany Christian Services
January 2014: finished our final home visit
April 2014: Made profile book and an online profile for potential birth families to view
May 5, 2014 Caseworker completed our formal homestudy and we were APPROVED for adoption
